In 1993 she interviewed Michael Jackson which a hundred million viewers tuned in making it the most watched interview in television history (Oprah Winfrey Biography 3). She is not just a big time philanthropist but also one of the greatest talk show hosts of our generation. She established the Oprah Winfrey leadership academy foundation, to which she has donated more than 40 million to create the Oprah Winfrey leadership academy for girls in South Africa which opened in January of 2007(“Oprah Winfrey’s Official Biography” 3).
